Flow and temperature meter for hydronic heat balancing

Our smart flow and temperature meter can be used as a input to hydronic balancing of heating and cooling solution in buildings. The non intrusive installation method makes the installation easy and fast. Flow data and temperature are available in real time from all meters used both when performing the adjustments and after. 4G cellular communication assures connection to the meters anywhere, anytime. Models for different pipe diameters enables measurements on main valves, riser valves, branch valves and terminal valves.

The principle of an ultrasonic water meter

Our water meter is based on an ultrasonic technology depicted below. Two ultrasonic transducers are used, both can transmit and receive ultrasonic waves. This makes it possible to measure two propagation times, one from upstream sensor to downstream sensor and one the other way around. As long as the water is standing still these both times are equal but as soon as the water begins to flow they will start to differ slightly. The water velocity is then proportional to this difference and for a specific pipe dimension the volume flow can be calculated.
